Sanju Samson is not having the best time when it comes to getting chances in the playing XI. The wicketkeeper batter has been on the team management’s radar for a long time but has been kept waiting for a chance, especially in T20Is. With talks of an overhaul in India’s T20I setup doing the rounds, Samson was expected to get a chance in the series against New Zealand.
However, the wicketkeeper batter could only warm the bench in the two games that were played. Rishabh Pant was preferred ahead of Samson for the wicketkeeper’s role. This treatment of the wicketkeeper batter infuriated his fans as they shared tweets bashing the Indian team management. Amid all this, a viral video involving Samson has fuelled up the debate but on a lighter note.
A video has gone viral on social media in which Samson is seen playing football with Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper batter starts the game as he passes the ball to Gill who heads it towards Siraj. The pacer then heads the ball to Rishabh Pant and this goes on with Samson waiting for his chance. A user shared the video with crying emojis in the caption.
Meanwhile, other users also reacted to the video. While a few laughed at the funny side of it, some did not like the treatment the wicketkeeper batter has been receiving in the past few months.
