With India all set to take on Australia in the upcoming five-match Test series, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, starting from November 22 in Perth, the Men in Blue have already commenced their practice sessions behind closed doors at the WACA. While the training camp is underway with several restrictions, there was some sight visible of the Indian batters toiling hard in the nets.
In the videos going viral on social media, Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal along with wicketkeeper-batters Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were also seen hitting the nets at the WACA in Perth. According to one of the Forbes journalists, Jaiswal during his batting practice hit one of ball over the nets onto the street around the WACA.
However, the video of the incident is not anywhere to be seen, but the ball was pictured on one of the adjacent roads. “Jaiswal just whacked it over the nets and onto the adjacent road. Luckily no cars or pedestrians around - the nearby school has just finished for the day,” Tristan Lavalette, Forbes cricket journalist reported.

However, with restrictions and the practice sessions going under complete lockdown at the Perth Stadium ahead of the opening Test, three of the Indian cricketers were seen having a decent outing in the nets. The 22-year-old left-hander is set to open for India, but a clarity on his partner Rohit Sharma is still unknown. But Head Coach Gautam Gambhir in the pre-departure press conference confirmed that if Rohit Sharma fails to feature in the opening Test, they have the back-up plans ready with Abhimanyu Easwaran and KL Rahul in the side.
