It is the second series win for Hardik Pandya at the helm after successfully winning the series against Ireland earlier this year. With the third and final match of the T20I series ending in a draw, the Men in Blue registered a convincing 1-0 win after clinching the second T20I on the back of a brilliant unbeaten 111 knock by Suryakumar Yadav.

After the series win, the stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya was asked about taking over the leadership role in the shortest format of the game during the post-match press conference.

“As far as whatever (captaincy) comes in future, we will see” the stand-in skipper said.

Earlier former India cricketers and commentators Sunil Gavaskar & Ravi Shastri also opined of India opting for split captaincy. They even named Hardik Pandya as the perfect option to take the charge in the shortest format of the game.

While the 29-year-old was also asked about his views on what the former players of the game think after the rain-curtailed third T20I. To this the India all-rounder responded, “Koi agar bol raha hai toh accha feel hota hai (If people are saying, you feel good about it but till something happens officially, you can’t say”.

Earlier, the Indian cricketer was also asked on accepting the permanent captaincy role or not, to which he replied, "Yeah, why not? If I get an opportunity, I’ll be more than happy to do that”.
