As the bidding war at the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is underway, each moment is bringing with it its own share of excitement. And now in a huge news, star raider Pawan Sehrawat has been bought by the Tamil Thalaivas for a whopping sum of 2.26 crore.
It was a bidding battle between Haryana Steelers, U Mumba, and Tamil Thalaivas that kept on increasing the bids for the raider eventually breaking all sorts of records as Sehrawat become the most expensive player in PKL on Friday. The former Bengaluru Bulls star was already set to be the highest bid of the day as soon as it surpassed Vikash Khandola's figure of 1.70 crores which had broken the record of being the most expensive player.
Meanwhile, post being bought by Puneri Paltan for 1.38 crore, Iranian Kabaddi veteran Fazel Atrachali not only became the most expensive defender but also emerged as the most expensive overseas player. Notably, the PKL mega auction happened in two sessions on Day 1.
While in the first session, the marquee players list of 15 players were auctioned in category A with their starting price was set at 30 lakhs, in category B, 28 players had to be auctioned. Sandeep Narwal, Hadi Oshtorak, Mohsen Maghsoudlou Jafari, Abozar Mighani, Ran Singh and Amit Nirwal went unsold on Day 1 of the auctions.
