Cricket action all around the year has been planned for fans all over the world. Even as the BCCI still struggles with the correct medical facilities to accommodate the smooth functioning of the leagues against the dreaded COVID-19. Team India will next take on the West Indies side for a limited overs series beginning in February. The series consists of 3 ODIs and as many T20Is.
The new year has already set in and the cricket calendar has been blocked by multiple tournaments this year. The cash rich Indian Premier League might be conducted in India after the tournament was successfully conducted in UAE. BCCI’s plan is to shift the tournament to India. However, amidst the growing cases of COVID-19, the BCCI is still in the planning stage of the games. After much speculation, 12-13th February has been narrowed down as dates for the Mega Auction. The 3rd ODI between India and West Indies is also scheduled to take place on 12th February 2022. Hence, both the events would be clashing. To avoid this clash, the Indian Cricket Board is looking to reschedule the game so as to accommodate the mega auction.

With the growing number of COVID-19 cases and the bio-bubbles of squads getting breached, the BCCI decided to reduce the travel within the camps by narrowing down just two locations. In fact, just after the West Indies tour, India would be playing against Sri Lanka within a gap of just five days. So, the BCCI would be looking at reducing the risk of the virus.
For now, action shifts to South Africa’s Boland Park in Paarl. The men in blue would be in action against the Proteas in the 2nd ODI. Having lost the Test series as well as the first ODI, team India would look to bounce back stronger.
