The Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox MLB fixture saw a viral moment outside the field where a fan’s prank proposal went horribly wrong. In the video, a fan can be seen stopping his girlfriend midgame as she walks down the stairs to her seat in the stadium.
The man then pulls his confused girlfriend toward him, kisses her, says “I love you” and kneels down, leaving the young woman in disbelief. She had her hand over her mouth and was excited about what would happen next.
The gesture immediately pushed other fans in the Rogers Centre grandstand close by to pull out their cameras to capture what happened next. The man instead of having a real wedding ring presented his girlfriend with a piece of confectionery.
After seeing the red lollipop ring, the young woman was immediately livid and proceeded to slap her partner as Blue Jays fans shriek in horror. “What the f**k is wrong with you,” she says while throwing her drink at the man.
Talking about the game, The Blue Jays completed their sweep of the Boston Red Sox with a 6-3 win at Rogers Centre in their final home game of the season. But this wasn’t the only series win in the division rivalry. Toronto dominated their season series with a 16-3 record against Boston which is the most number of wins they have had against one opponent in a single season in club history.
