After the successful completion of three BWF events, the BWF World Tour returns with the German Open 2022. The Super 300 tournament will feature top players from across the globe. Players like Viktor Axelsen, Kento Momota, Lee Zee Jia, Kidambi Srikanth, PV Sindhu, An Seyoung, Tai Tzu Ying, Akane Yamaguchi, Saina Nehwal, and others will be seen in action for the six-day tournament.
The tournament is a part of the German Open championships, which had been held since 1955. The German Open is returning after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will kick off with the Round of 32 matches on March 8 and 9. It will then see the pre-quarters being played on the 10th and quarters being played on the 11th. The semifinals of the German Open will be played on 12 March and the finals on 13th.
Total prize money of 180,000 USD will be up for grabs across events. The winners of the singles event will get 13,500 USD while the winners of the doubles event will be awarded 14,220 USD. With the tournament set to start from Tuesday, let's deep dive into the details of it.
