The ongoing 3rd ODI between India and West Indies started in style, but for the visitors. While Rohit Sharma opted to bat first, he knew little that India’s top order will be blown away by disciplined pace bowling from West Indies. Earlier, both the teams made some important changes in their team. KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Chahal and Shardul Thakur were replaced by Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Chahar respectively.
Meanhile, the visitors made just one change with Hayden Wash replacing Akeal Hosein. After recovering from Covid, Shikhar Dhawan opened the Indian innings alongside Rohit Sharma. Both the celebrated openers of white-ball cricket could only add 16-runs on board before Alzari Joesph turned the game in the 3rd over of the match.
He dismissed Rohit Sharma (13 of 15) as the Indian skipper was bowled after getting an inside edge while driving a full-length delivery. Next in line was Virat Kohli (0 of 2); he continued his poor form in the series and once again departed cheaply, but this time even before opening his account. Joseph took only two more balls to reduce India’s total from 16-1 to 16-2. The keeper caught Kohli while the former skipper was trying to flick the ball but failed.
As expected, Kohli’s departure caused netizens to react on social media. Virat Kohli’s poor performance in the series provoked many Twitter users to share humorous posts while some backed the RCB batter to bounce back.

Ther isn't a player in the world who hasn't gone through the kind of phase Virat Kohli is going through. When the greats come back, they make up for it. I look forward to seeing Virat in that phase again.

India’s experienced top order was once again challenged by the West Indies bowling unit. After being dismissed by Odean Smith, Shikhar Dhawan, who was middling the bat well and played a few cracking shots in little time he spent on the crease, took a long walk back. At the time, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are on the crease in an attempt to steady India’s sinking ship. India’s score reads 88 for 3-wickets in 20 overs of the match.
