Team India so far have dominated in the first T20I match against West Indies at Eden Gardens. The host after opting to bowl first didn’t allow the Windies’ batters to open their arm and kept picking wickets at crucial stages to keep themselves ahead. Team India eventually restricted West Indies to a mediocre total of 157.
Skipper Rohit Sharma too had a good outing on the field as his decisions yielded fruitful results for the team.
The Indian skipper was in action and on toes throughout the first innings and he displayed another masterclass through his fielding in the final over of the West Indies innings.
On the final delivery of the 20th over, Harshal Patel bowled his signature slower ball to deceive the batter, Odean Smith. The batter tried to hit it powerfully but could only manage to hit through the toe-end of the bat. Rohit ran backwards and dived to catch it over his right shoulder. Notably, Suryakumar was also running in from long-off but stopped on time and avoided a collision.
SKY too was impressed by the skipper’s tremendous catch and gave a “Can’t believe it” expression to Rohit.
