Bangalore vs Delhi, Match 56

Series:

IPL 2021

BLR
166/3 (20)
DEL
164/5 (20)

Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 7 wickets

Valuable asset of the match: KS Bharat

Let's crack it sixes: KS Bharat

Super striker of the match: Prithvi Shaw

Virat Kohli(Winning Skipper): It's an unbelievable game. We had nothing to lose but it was a competitive game & that's the case about the IPL. The way AB started & then Maxi & KS finishing it off, was unbelievable. The reality was that we needed 160 runs to win & we had some batting collapse. This would give us confidence to pull off matches in any situations. This gives us a lot of confidence. Number 3 wasn't an issue for us. We wanted to give Dan a bit more time as he was playing really well in the middle. We knew KS is a person who could play at no 3 in any situation of the game. We need to sharpen our field. Sometimes the boundaries that we leak, becomes critical. We have played really well in Sharjah. We have the experience already & needed to utilize it as much as possible on coming to the tournament.

Rishabh Pant (Losing Skipper): We know how important fielding are in T20 cricket. If you field the way we did, then you deserve to lose. Also in our batting, we lost too many wickets. But we will have to field better the next time. It was tough to bowl in the last overs, because of the dew. The fielders have to support the batters in these tough situations. Not feeling great, because these kind of matches, should have been won.
