IPL is expected to deliver exceptional batting shows again with its 2025 season. The last season of the league saw how batters ruled the tournament. Noting IPL rules and conditions, not much is expected to change for bowlers this year as it can be surmised batters are going to be more relentless in the upcoming T20 tournament. After witnessing a lot of cricketing action recently, SportsTiger has come up with five players who might take advantage of favourable batting conditions and can emerge as the Orange Cap winners in IPL 2025.
Here are five Players who can win the Orange cap in IPL 2025:
5. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli hasn’t looked consistent with his bat in internationals recently but when it comes to IPL, he can’t be ruled out from the list of contenders to pull off the distinguished Orange Cap. In 2024, former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain became the first India player to win the Orange Cap twice after racking up 741 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 154.69.
4. Travis Head
Travis Head will be expected to continue his previous year’s form for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The star Australia player looked extraordinary for his national team in recent times and he will look to do the same for the Orange Army in the upcoming T20 assignment.
3. Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma has shown he can be dangerous for bowlers in the first powerplay and accumulate runs at a great pace for his team. SRH will be delighted with his current form as the left-handed opener has done a superb job in the last few months. In the five-match T20 International (T20I) series against England played in January-February, he was the highest run-getter with 279 runs in five matches at a breathtaking strike rate of 219.68.
2. Rachin Ravindra
New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra looked disciplined with his bat in the Champions Trophy 2025, notching up 263 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 106.47. The southpaw will be seen opening for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and his responsibility will be to deliver magnificent starts to his side. Noting his current form, Chennai will want him to dominate bowlers in the upcoming competition.
1. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer played a vital role in India’s third Champions Trophy title victory in Dubai. He scored 243 runs in five games at a strike rate of 79.41 and ended up as the second-leading run-getter in the tournament. The 30-year-old will look to carry his form ahead in the T20 league to justify his mammoth price tag of INR 26.75 Crore, which he got from Punjab Kings (PBKS) during the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah.
