Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s childhood coach Kapil Pandey recalled how India star and Delhi Capital skipper Rishabh Pant motivated Yadav. Pandey recalled Pant’s advice and words of wisdom to Yadav when he shifted to Delhi Capitals from Kolkata Knight Rider last year. In a conversation with The Indian Express, Pandey said that Pant along with DC coach Rickey Ponting backed him when needed it the most.
During the interview, Pandey said, " Ricky Ponting told him ‘I am going to play you all the matches. There is a reason Warnie (Shane Warne) likes you and I can see why. You are going to be our matchwinner.” Not only this, but Yadav also recalled how Pant motivated the 28-year-old.
Pandey said that Pant told Yadav that there is no bigger bowling force than him in the entire nation. This pep talk motivated the Uttar Pradesh born and filled him with zeal to a higher degree. He said, "Rishabh told him ‘aapko acha karna hoga bhaiya, aapse bada bowler nahi hai India mein (you have to do well brother, there is no better bowler than you in this country).’ Kapil added "Shane Watson worked on his batting. He found a home at Delhi and you can see the performances."
Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets for his side in the recently-concluded ODI series against West Indies. Not only this, but the Delhi Capitals star picked decisive wickets of Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell by conceding 26 runs in the fourth match of the T20I series.
