Australian cricketer Steve Smith is set to play his 100th test match for Australia against England, and he has just the right jersey for the occasion. Taking to Instagram, the star batter showed off the special jersey to fans in a story, using the caption “Special shirts for my 100th test tomorrow”.

The shirt in question has an inscription honouring the 34-year-old’s achievement. It reads “Ashes Tour of England, 100th Test Match”. Coming back to the Ashes tour, The batter has a unique opportunity to win the five-game series in his 100th test match.
Australia currently leads 2-0 in the five-game series after Australia secured a magnificent 43-run victory over England in the second game. “It is something that has been on my bucket list,” Smith said about the occasion. “To win an Ashes series in England. What a way to top it off, if I could do it in my 100th game, it would be special for sure.”
The batsman from New South Wales was in good form for the second game in the series, scoring 110 runs off 184 balls at Lord’s and securing his place as the player with the second-highest number of centuries for Australia. Smith now has 32 test cricket tons, becoming the fastest player ever to reach this landmark by completing it in the 174th innings of his 99th test match.

He was also honoured by becoming only the fourth Australian cricketer to get his name etched at the honour’s board at Lord’s, joining the truly elite company of Don Bradman, Bill Brown and Warren Bardsley after scoring multiple centuries at the Home of Cricket, where he made his test debut against Pakistan in 2010.
Despite the potential to conquer England in his 100th test, Smith insists he is enjoying his time off the pitch and isn’t overly stressed about the big match. “I’ll take it one game at a time,” the cricketer said. “I’ll keep playing as long as I’m having fun, believe I can make progress, contribute to the team, and feel good about my contributions.”
