India's prolific batter Virat Kohli will be a centre of attraction during the clash against Pakistan on August 28th (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The right-handed batter is going through a dry spell as he has been unable to score runs as many runs that do justice to his reputation. More than a thousand days have passed since the batter has reached triple figures and his diminishing returns with the bat this year has added to the concern.
The 34-year-old Indian batter has recently claimed that he is hitting the ball well and not worried about his inability to score runs, but also admitted that he is spending a lot of time brainstorming over the way to get back to his previous rhythm. As per the videos revealed by the BCCI on Twitter, Kohli was seen smashing the ball well during the net session and appeared confident ahead of the highly-anticipated clash against Pakistan.
And now as per fresh reports, Virat Kohli has also made a crucial addition in his life which might help him to extract better results in the game. Reportedly, Kohli will use a new MRF Gold Wizard BAT which is slightly heavier than the bat he uses now.
Reports have claimed that Kohli's new MRF Gold Wizard Bat will be of 1.15Kg, which is a few grams heavier than his current bat which weighs around 1.1kg. The Indian batter is highly regarded for his perfect wrist movement and ability to shift gears but a new and slightly heavy bat might help him to time the ball well and hit it over the ropes with a lot of ease.
While speaking on Star Sports show 'Game Plan' Virat Kohli said that he is not having any problem with his batting which was not the case in England. "What happened in England was a pattern, so something that I could work on and something that I had to kind of overcome. Right now, there is nothing that I can point out highlighting it as a mistake or constant error," said Kohli.
While Kohli is confident of his batting abilities several cricket experts have claimed that Virat's performance in the upcoming Asia Cup will decide his future in the Indian team. The tournament will kick start with Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan on August 27.
