After registering a convincing lead of 2-0 over Barbados, India's Sathiyan Gnanasekaran continued his dominance in table tennis. The world ranked number 38, took as easy lead in first set to clinch it 11-4 in just minutes after start.
Sathiyan took a comfortable lead of 5-1 in set two over Barbados' Tyrese Knight and in no time took the set by 11-4.
The Indian paddler trailed 0-2 with the start of the third and final set despite winning the first two games of the match 3 but came back stronger with this smashes and attacking game to go up 7-4. Giving away just one point to the opponent, Sathiyan clinched third and final set 11-5 to win the game for India.
Earlier, the duo of Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Harmeet Desai cruised past the Barbados pair 11-9, 11-9, 11-4. The veteran Indian paddler in Sharath Kamal then took the lead, registering dominant win of 11-5, 11-3, 11-3 over Ramon Maxwell.
The men's team will next face Singapore at 11 PM (IST) later today.
