The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kickstart with a match between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on March 22. However, the fans are waiting for RCB’s much-awaited clash with Chennai Super Kings which will take place at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 28. Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, RCB mentor and batting coach, Dinesh Karthik said that the team will be going with a proper planning for the match against CSK.
Notably, when RCB last met CSK in IPL 2024 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, it turned out to be a memorable game. In a thrilling encounter, RCB defeated CSK by 27 runs to knock the five-time champions out of the playoffs race and enter the top-four that year. Since then, the CSK fans are eager to take revenge from RCB fans and both the teams are set to face each other again in match number eight of IPL 2025. "We will definitely plan for the CSK match, our second match. We will plan very well, don't take any tension," Karthik was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
No need to worry about RCB pacers: Dinesh Karthik
Speaking further, Dinesh Karthik also said that the fans don’t need to worry about the fast bowlers of RCB in IPL 2025. “No need to worry about RCB pacers, they are all okay at the moment, so don't worry," Karthik said.
RCB roped in star fast bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood for the upcoming season of the IPL. RCB will begin their campaign with a match against KKR on March 22. After that, Rajat Patidar-led side will travel to Chennai to face CSK in their second match of the season on March 28.
