Kolkata Knight Riders produced their best bowling display of IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings on Monday. After succumbing to four defeats in a row, Eoin Morgan's side looked in lethal form as they completely destroyed the star-studded batting line-up of PBKS in Ahmedabad. Among various positive signs for KKR, the most important one was the return in form of their mystery spinner Sunil Narine.
The 32-year-old weaves his magic once again
Sunil Narine has come under scrutiny for not being able to replicate the match winning performances he has given for KKR over the years. However, the spinner turned back the clock as he completely bamboozled all the batsmen. He took the crucial wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Moises Henriques, finishing with figures of 4-0-22-2.
Narine's action could be under scrutiny
While the social media was filled with praises and appreciation for the KKR spinner, there was a section of fans who suspected an irregularity in the bowling action of Sunil Narine. Notably, the 32-year-old had got his action reported during last edition of IPL after the game against Punjab Kings.
IPL had later released a statement which said, "The committee carefully reviewed all the deliveries of action footage sent of Narine with the naked eye and has come to the conclusion that the elbow-bend appears to be within the range of permissible limits. The Committee also noted that Narine should reproduce the same action going forward in the IPL 2020 matches as presented to the Committee in the video footage."
It looks like Twitterati are visualizing a repeat of last year's series of events. Some fans also feared that a complaint might be lodged against Sunil Narine once again.
