After months of speculations, football giants FC Barcelona have officially confirmed their entry into Valorant esports. The football club, which had star players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez in their ranks, has expanded its community, entering the esports arena.
In the latest move, FCB Valorant team, Barca eSports is set to embark on their esports journey by making their debut at the upcoming Valorant Challengers Spain. The tournament is one of the prominent tier two Valorant leagues in Europe. The news around the development was confirmed by Juli Guiu, the Vice President of FC Barcelona.
“With the participation of FC Barcelona in the Valorant competition of the LVP we add a new team that will represent the Club during this 2024,” VP Guiu said in a statement. “The Club continues to shape its commitment to esports and adds a team to the Valorant competition that, together with the one that competes in League of Legends, are framed in the will to explore new opportunities and reach new audiences,” he further added.
Barca eSports gets direct invite for VCL 2024 Spain: Rising
FC Barcelona’s team in Valorant has received a direct invite for VCL 2024 Spain: Rising. The tournament will be held from 15th January, and the Barca eSports will take on ZETA in the first game. Along with Barca eSports, FIVE Media Clan, Case Esports, UCAM Esports Club, ZETA, KPI Gaming, Ramboot Club and AYM Esports.
