Brazilian footballer Neymar’s father said that he and his family won’t bail out Dani Alves out of Spanish prison after his rape conviction. Alves requires $1.1 million to bail after he was convicted of rape. Neymar’s father Neymar da Silva Santos that his family has already supported Alves during the trials but they won’t be doing it anymore after the former Brazil defender was found guilty of rape in a Barcelona nightclub in 2022.
The 40-year-old was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, and currently, he is being held at a Barcelona jail. Neymar’s father didn’t clarify how much he gave to Alves but said that it’s a different situation now because the court ruled against Alves. Notably, Alves and Neymar were teammates at Barcelona, PSG and Brazil. Neymar now plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Neymar da Silva Santos denied bailing out Neymar and said that the matter is over for the family. He said, “For us, for my family, this matter is over. Full stop.” He added, "With the Spanish court ruling for his conviction, there's speculation and an attempt to associate my name and my son's to a matter that is not within our reach any longer.”
