The ODI World Cup 2023 is just a sleep away and the finalists of the 2019 ODI World Cup 2023 are all set to take the field in the tournament opener on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Just a day ahead of the World Cup opener, captains of the 10 teams gathered for the ICC Captains’ Day Meet in Ahmedabad on October 4.

During the 2023 ICC Captains’ Meet as the captains of all 10 teams addressed media and shared their experience of the past while coming into the 2023 edition with their best ODI XI. During the address, a journalist questioned Indian skipper Rohit Sharma recalling the 2019 finale. Just in time when the journalist completed his question, Rohit Sharma was left in splits.
The Indian cricketer gave an epic one-line response to the question, stating, “Mera kaam nahi hai yeh. Ghoshit karna mera kaam nahi hai (This is not my work. It’s not my job to give the result),” leaving everyone including the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in splits.

While the 2019 finalists will face off in the opener, the Rohit Sharma-led will take on Australia in their tournament opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
