Pakistan leg-break spinner Abrar Ahmed started trending on social media after dropping a post related to India legend Virat Kohli on Instagram. In the fifth match of the Champions Trophy 2025, Abrar got the opportunity to play his first international game against India and he delivered a fine spell (1/28 in 10 overs) to Pakistan in a losing cause. During the game, Abrar dismissed in-form Shubman Gill and delivered a send-off to the opener. Following the game, Team India fans trolled the spin wizard for his send-off. Former Pakistan captain praised Abrar for his bowling in the contest but criticised him for the send-off as former pacer felt it wasn’t the right time for the celebration.

Almost after a week of the blockbuster clash, Pakistan bowler has posted a collage on Instagram which displays the bonhomie between him and Kohli. Taking to the social media site, he also expressed gratitude towards the 36-year-old. His post read, “Bowling to my childhood hero Virat Kohli. Grateful for his appreciation—his greatness as a cricketer is only matched by his humility as a person. A true inspiration on and off the field!”

Virat Kohli to appear for 300th time in ODIs with India’s upcoming game against New Zealand

Virat Kohli will add another milestone to his profile with his appearance against New Zealand in the twelfth game of the ongoing ODI event. With the upcoming game against the Black Caps on Sunday, he will become the seventh Indian stalwart to play 300 ODIs. Back in 2008, Kohli played his maiden ODI game against Sri Lanka at Dambulla. In his 17-year career, Kohli has achieved phenomenal success in the white-ball format of the sport.

India will expect Kohli to do wonders with his bat against the Black Caps and help the team conclude the group stage as table-toppers. India, who have qualified for the semi-finals, will play in Dubai against Australia or South Africa, who have advanced to the knockouts from Group B.
