Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was spotted at India's ICC ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final against New Zealand. Pandya was ruled out of the World Cup with an ankle ligament tear against Bangladesh in Pune. Batting first, the Men in Blue continued their magical form in the World Cup into the knockout stage as they posted 238 runs in 33 overs. India's run-scoring juggernaut was once again kick-started by the captain Rohit Sharma, who smashed 47 in 29 balls.

After Sharma departed, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli carried forward this onslaught. Though Gill went back retired hurt at 79, Iyer didn't let the scoring rate go down. Amidst this batting carnage, as the camera panned towards the crowd, Hardik Pandya was spotted sitting next to Bollywood actor John Abraham as he cheered on his teammates.

After getting hurt on October 19, Pandya was given six to eight weeks of rest. Further, the Indian medical staff was hopeful that Hardik would recover to play in India's last league match against the Netherlands on November 12. But with Pandya's swelling failing to improve, he couldn't pass the fitness tests and hence he was eventually ruled out of the tournament, with Prasidh Krishna being his replacement.
Addressing his injury, Hardik Pandya shared an emotional tweet where he wished his team well for the remainder of the World Cup. The tweet said, " Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup."
"I'll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I'm sure we'll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP."
