WWE star Cody Rhodes thanked his fans for their unwavering support through an emotional speech after the ‘WWE Raw’. Some Rhodes fans took to social media to vent frustration at Rhodes not being able to fight at WrestleMania 40 after it emerged that The Rock would lock horns with Roman Reigns at the forthcoming event. After ‘WWE Raw’ went off air, the Royal Rumble 2024 winner thanked his fans for the support he received after the last WWE Smackdown controversy.
Sami Zayn, who was also present alongside the 38-year-old, asked fans to break into ‘We Want Cody’ chants. The American Nightmare was seen in tears as he expressed gratitude towards his fans. Rhodes took the mic and said, “Those three words. Well, all I can say is since I was a little boy who grew up loving everything for you to want me is special because I have always wanted you.”

Cody Rhodes had reportedly warned the WWE about the backlash they would receive for replacing him with The Rock for locking horns with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Cody wasn’t the only one who voiced their concerns regarding the change. However, the American fighter saw this coming and warned the WWE about the reaction.
Sean tweeted, “Sources within WWE say that Cody is a company man and has long respected WWE's decision making, but claim Cody actually voiced that the thought the audience wouldn't react well to the change in creative direction for Mania before last Friday.” As per reports by Fightful, “This decision went up to Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro, and was even above Nick Khan and Triple H.”
