The former opening pair of Delhi Capitals, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw will be seen opening the innings against the unsold playing XI. Warner remaining unsold turned out to be the biggest shock of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The former Australian cricketer had a successful IPL career where he won the orange cap three times (2015, 2017 and 2019), and also led Sunrisers Hyderabad to title under his captaincy in 2016. On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw was also crucial member of DC from 2018 to 2024 before the franchise released him ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. The 25-year-old didn’t get any bid in the auction and will miss IPL 2025.
