
Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis announces his retirement from ODI cricket on February 06, 2025. Shocking, the 35-year-old was named in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad of Australia on January 13th. The all-rounder will continue to play the shortest format, T20Is, for the country.

Marcus Stoinis is a prominent member of Australian cricket teams and has won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023. The announcement shocked the cricket fans as he was already named in the 15-man squad of Australia for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to kick off on 19 February.
Now he will be replaced in the final squad to be named by February 12. Stoinis has played 71 ODIs for Australia, scoring 1245 runs and taking 48 wickets. The all-rounder hits 1 century and 6 fifties in the 50-over format.
Marcus has been playing in the SA20 2025 with the Durban Super Giants, where he reportedly got injured while bowling.
