Brazilian footballing superstar Neymar has been included in the national squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifier matches against Colombia and Argentina later this month. After sustaining a knee injury in October 2023 on international duty, Neymar was sidelined from the sport for around a year, and as far as his involvement with Brazil is concerned, it’s happening after a whopping 17-month absence.
Following his injury recovery, Neymar played a few matches late last year for Al-Hilal, the Saudi Pro League side, but this past January, he re-signed with his boyhood club Santos in Brazil. As of this writing, the 33-year-old has scored three goals and provided three assists in seven matches in the Brazilian top flight over the past few weeks, proving his form before getting called up to the national team.
