Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic creates history as he wins his 23rd Grand Slam after beating Casper Ruud to take home the French Open 2023 men's singles title. Djokovic defeated his Norwegian opponent 7-6, 6-3, 7-5 to win his third Roland Garros title and reclaimed the World Number One rank.
Casper Ruud kick-started the final with great intensity but Djokovic soon drew level and won the first set on the back of an intense tiebreak. Then in the second set, the Serbinator was in full flow and cruised to a 6-3 win as Ruud several times seemed out of sorts. Coming to the final set, both competitors were going neck and neck until Djoker broke forward and won his historic 23rd Grand Slam.
Reacting to his stunning win, Novak Djokovic spoke about how he is fortunate to achieve the feat winning of winning his 23rd Grand Slam title. Further, he thanked the French crowd for their constant support before and stated winning his record Grand Slam title at the Roland Garros isn't a coincidence.
He said, "I am beyond fortunate in my life to win 23 Grand Slams. It's an incredible feeling. It's not a coincidence I won the 23rd Grand Slam here in Paris. This tournament has always been the hardest for me to win," he added.
