Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad expressed his unhappiness with Mohammad Rizwan’s appointment as white-ball captain. Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board recently appointed Rizwan as their ODI and T20I captain after Babar Azam resigned from the role to focus on his performance. Along with Rizwan’s appointment at the helm, Salman Ali Agha was appointed as the vice captain.

However, Rizwan’s appointment didn’t sit well with several pundits and former players, including Ahmed Shehzad. In a video, the former cricketer could be seen slamming the wicketkeeper-batter while accusing him of getting Pakistan cricket in this condition. In a video, Shehzad could be heard saying, “Congratulations captain, It was Rizwan and his teammates who got Pakistan into the condition it is in today. And now, it will be Rizwan who will take them out from here. Earlier, when Babar was the captain, he would do the captaincy. You have finally become what you had always wanted to be by playing all the conspiracies. Let’s see what you have in store for Pakistan cricket, fans and people.”

Kagaz ke sher, aur ghar mein dher: Shehzad Ahmed after IND record series loss against NZ

The former cricketer earlier slammed India after they lost the Test series against New Zealand. On his YouTube channel, Shehzad praised New Zealand for their performance and referred to India as “paper tigers”. He said, "New Zealand have come to India and thrashed them as if they had the right to do so, beating them like kids and walking away. They've pulled a prank on India. People are now saying, 'Kagaz ke sher, aur ghar mein dher' (Paper tigers, crumbled at home).”

The former cricketer added, "When India were bowled out for 46 runs (in the first Test), Rohit Sharma had said, 'Everyone has a bad day.' And we accept that. Absolutely fair. But in this Test match too, the way you've played cricket, it seems like you've become complacent. Rohit Sharma says that they don't believe in unnecessary talk, but that spirit was missing in the last two Tests. These two matches have been played in a way that makes it seem like schoolboys were playing.”
