Pakistan’s Team Director Mohammad Hafeez on Monday, 1st January missed his flight to Sydney ahead of the third Test against Pakistan. The Shan Masood-led side will play the final Test, starting January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The visitors currently trail in the three-match Test series 0-2.

But as they look to take on the hosts in Sydney, it is being reported that Mohammad Hafeez missed his flight to be with the visiting side. According to Geo News sources, Hafeez was travelling with his wife and was supposed to travel to Sydney with the Pakistan team, but missed the flight at the airport. He reportedly arrived late at the airport and wasn’t allowed to board the flight.

However, the former Pakistan cricketer and his wife took another flight to Sydney hours later to be with the side. Moreover, there have been reports that Saim Ayub is likely to make his Test debut in Sydney, while the Men in Green are also mulling to field “unrecovered” Abrar Ahmad.

According to Geo New sources, Pakistan is likely to reduce the workload of vice-captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and he might bowl comparatively less overs in the final Test. This comes after earlier reports surfaced stating that Afridi could be rested if Pakistan loses the second Test.
