It is to be noted that the 22-year-old Manu Bhaker entered the 10m air pistol mixed team qualification on the back of her bronze medal win on Sunday, July 28. She also ended India’s wait for an Olympic medal in shooting with Gagan Narang winning a bronze at the London 2012 Olympics last time. Moreover, the Indian shooter became only fifth after Abhinav Bindra, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang to win an Olympic medal in shooting.
On the other hand, Sarabjot Singh, missed finals qualification by one point despite levelling the scores. Singh finished ninth, just one short of the 8-shooter final with a total score of 577, just standing behind Germany’s Robin Walter, who had one extra 10 x than the Indian.
