Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has targeted fellow Pakistanis for making excuses and being jealous of failing to contain BCCI in convincing other boards to accept the Champions Trophy 2025 schedule, which is getting followed in the ongoing competition. He extended support to BCCI amidst the Indian cricket board facing heavy criticism for the schedule of the tournament. Following India’s initial two victories in the group stage, former England stalwarts David Lloyd, Michael Atherton, and Nasser Hussain accused India of getting undue advantage in the 50-over tournament. They received support from Pakistani fans who believed BCCI is responsible for the scheduling chaos.

Attacking BCCI’s critics, Latif attacked PCB and other cricket boards for not expressing themselves and accepting the schedule of the tournament. Appearing on the Youtube channel "Caught Behind", Latif said BCCI alone isn't responsible for the chaos as other boards also stayed mum on the schedule. "If India is getting all the support, but you all agreed to it, let's say we Pakistanis are making excuses because of jealousy, but the rest of the world should not moan about this issue. You all agreed to this schedule," remarked Latif.

Latif targets former England stalwarts for their India remark

Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Latif lashed out at former England cricketers for their remark on India. "If we (Pakistan) are talking about India having an advantage, you get it. But why are former England cricketers whining about it now? They are trying to be overly involved in someone else's affairs)," added Latif.

Latif earlier hit the headlines for taking an indirect dig at his former teammates Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, who won several matches for the Men in Green during the 1990s and early 2000s. He alleged both Pakistan legends for doing anything for money and also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to keep both away from the national team. Replying to Latif, Younis posted an image with Wasim on X with their notable international stats.
