I n a big news, the Road Safety World Series is likely to be played in England this year. The T20 league involving retired cricketer across the globe is reportedly to be held outside of the Indian subcontinent for the first time ever. As a report published by ESPNcricinfo, the T20 league will be played in England in September this year.
As reported by the media organisation, the league has got approval from the England and Wales cricket Board (ECB). However, the dates for the third edition are still under talks, , it is being learnt that the tournament will be played early in September for close to three weeks.
Additionally, nine teams are likely to participate in the upcoming edition as compared to eight till last year. Pakistan is likely to feature in the September edition, seeing that the tournament will take place outside India.
Talking about the past editions, the first was played across 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 outbreak, followed by the second which took place last year in 2022. While the first edition saw teams from India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies and Australia, the latter half saw Australia pull out and Bangladesh replacing the side. However, the second edition was New Zealand join in to make it to a eight team event.
