English allrounder Sam Curran has been sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 2.40 Crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 26-year-old is set to don the yellow jersey again after being a part of the franchise in 2020 and 2021. Making his IPL debut for Punjab Kings in 2019, Curran was sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 5.5 Crore ahead of IPL 2020. 

After a couple of years with CSK, Sam Curran was sold to Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2023 after missing the 2022 season. He turned out to be the most expensive player in that edition after PBKS bought him for a whopping INR 18.50 Crore. Now, he went from PBKS to CSK ahead of the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league.

Sam Curran per ball income in IPL 2025

Sam Curran was once the most expensive player in the IPL history. Now there has been a huge drop in his IPL salary from INR 18.50 Crore in IPL 2024 to INR 2.40 Crore in IPL 2025. He will be seen taking charge of the fast bowling line up along with Khaleel Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana. As he will be playing as a spearhead fast bowler, English pacer is likely to bowl four overs in a match for CSK.

Playing as a spearhead fast bowler, Sam Curran is likely to bowl a total of 336 during 14 matches in the league stage. According to this, the fast bowler will earn approx INR 72K per ball in IPL 2025. However, if CSK qualify for the final, Sam Curran can bowl a maximum of 408 balls in 17 matches in IPL 2025. This means that the left-arm pacer will earn approx INR 59K per ball in IPL 2025.
