Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar warned all the participants of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in case Australia lost their clash against South Africa. Notably, the five-time champions took on Temba Bavuma-led side in their second clash of the ICC event on October 12, Friday. The Pat Cummins side were coming on the back of a defeat against India in their season opener.
While the dominance over their rivals would surely have given the Proteas a confidence boost, the Pakistani had something else to say. Akhtar took to social media to warn the other teams and said that Australia's defeat would affect them also. Fondly called 'Rawalpindi Express', the former cricketer went on to say that their defeat would become a troubling factor for other teams.

Akhtar tweeted, "If Australia lose today, yeh baqi ka poora tournament sab pay ghussa nikaalay gi! Soch lain what you want." Akhtar's warning comes from the fact that Australia is the strongest team, given the fact that they have won the tournament a record five times.
It was very evident that the Kangaroos took on the field with the intent to outclass their counterparts. However, owing to the game skills displayed by both teams, the Proteas took an early lead on their rivals. After delivering a poor bowling and fielding performance, the Aussies failed to hit big numbers and started losing wickets right from the beginning.
