The highly-anticipated UFC middleweight title rematch between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya showed the Nigeria-born fighter reclaiming his title after completing his revenge on his arch-rival on Saturday night in the UFC 287. After knocking out Pereira, the 33-year-old Adesanya celebrated with all his might and even pulled off the Brazilian fighter's arrow celebration.
On Saturday night, Adesanya became the two-time middleweight champion as he reclaimed his title against former champ Alex Pereira at the Miami-Dade Arena after losing it against him last year in November.
After losing his last three fights against the 35-year-old Brazilian across all competitions, Adesanya bounced back this time and delivered a pair of brutal right hands that knocked out Pereira cold. With 4:21 remaining in the second round, Adesanya pulled off a sensational knockout and reclaimed his title followed by his arrow celebration, which he did thrice to balance his three previous losses against Pereira.

In the post-fight interview, Adesanya said, "They say revenge is sweet and if you know me, I’ve got a sweet tooth. This is f****** sweet. I’m telling you, no matter what, Alex is a great champion. He lost the belt tonight but he will always be the champion. I told you, the hunter is now the hunted. Beating me, he made me a better fighter, a better person. In this camp, I didn’t f*** around. That last one had everything. Since 2017, that last hammer fist was from the gods."
Adesanya held his composure during the fight as he looked calm and concentrated when Pereira was getting aggressive as the current champion was waiting for the best possible moment to hit the bull's eye.
