The auction saw all ten franchises engaging in intense bidding war to complete their squads and pick up the most suitable players for the forthcoming blockbuster season of the cash-rich league. The recently-concluded IPL mega auction shattered all the records in terms of money spent by all franchises. The league rewrote financial history as the ten teams spent a whopping INR 639.15 Crore across 182 players, including 62 overseas players. Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player as he was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for a staggering INR 27 Crore. The previous record was held by IPL 2022 when franchises spent INR 551.7 Crore.
