Australia and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head recently showed up in an interview with CricketNext and was asked to pick his favourite Indian batter among Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others. Head, who was the leading run-getter for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2024, has struggled to deliver impactful innings to his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, this year. In SRH’s four defeats in the competition, the left-handed batter departed in the early phase of his team’s batting innings. Hyderabad’s next challenge is against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and the southpaw will be expected to do wonders with his bat.

Prior to the crucial encounter, the Aussie faced some intriguing questions and was asked to pick his favourite Indian batter. Head replied abruptly with Rohit’s name as the 31-year-old feels the India veteran can be effective as an opener. “Rohit Sharma. Opening partnership. We need to look out for opening partners," said Head.

SRH will be expected to snap back after four consecutive defeats

SRH haven’t tasted success after winning their maiden IPL 2025 contest against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Their batting unit has been failing consistently but against in-form Punjab, their key players Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen will have to step up with their bats.

Punjab have exuded confidence in this competition under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy. With three wins and just one loss, they have earned the fourth spot on the points tally. They won their last game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 18 runs in Mohali. PBKS young opener Priyansh Arya struck his maiden IPL hundred and made a major contribution in the triumph.
