On Sunday, March 2, Rohit Sharma-led Team India is taking on New Zealand in their final group stage match of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The Kiwis showcased exceptional fielding in the first inning with Glenn Phillips producing a scintillating catch to dismiss Virat Kohli, in the second innings, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel also grabbed a stunner.
After Mohammed Shami opened the bowling for India, Hardik Pandya also shared the new ball. Coming out to bowl his second over, the Indian all-rounder drew the first blood as he dismissed Kiwi opener Rachin Ravindra on the final ball of the fourth over. Hardik opted to bowl a short one at Rachin Ravindra which the Kiwi international went for an upper cut.
Axar Patel ran at third man and dived to perfection to cling to the ball and complete the catch. For once it looked as if he misjudged it, but Axar Patel recovered just in time to grab the ball and give New Zealand their first wicket.

Speaking of the match, Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to field first. The Indian cricket team put up a decent score of 249 at the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 50 overs, courtesy a 98-run stand between Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel. For the Kiwis, Matt Henry was the star, picking up five wickets in his eight-over spell. Kyle Jamieson, William ORourke, Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra also picked a wicket each.
