In the ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on 2022 winners, Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, March 29. Both teams are coming into this fixture off a similar result. While MI registered a four-wicket defeat against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, Shubman Gill-led side suffered a drubbing at the hands of Punjab Kings at their own den.
But as the two teams will be vying to get two points under their belt when they lock horns on Saturday at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium, New Zealand batter Bevon Jacobs was seen firing the MI bowlers in the practice session. The New Zealand hard-hitter, who is known for his hard-hitting, smashed a ball for a six, which did some damage at the venue.

During MI’s practice session, Jacobs was seen smacking a powerful shot and soon before the ball could land, it did some damage to the property as the glass of a fridge was shattered. While the loud sound of glass shattering was heard, the Kiwi batter later walked up to check on the damage and was left in disbelief. The 22-year-old was also heard apologizing for the damage done.
MI Paltan also took to social media to share the video of Bevon Jacobs powerhitting which did damage to the ground ahead of the match. “Bevon Bhai seems keen to be a part of our तोडफोड मंडळ ," MI captioned the video.

It is to be noted that Jacobs has been a promising cricketer and his 40-ball hundred made him a supreme contender to join the five-time champions. Although, the Kiwi batter warmed the benches in MI’s IPL 2025 opener against CSK, he could get a chance to feature in the tournament.
