After breaking the all-time record for the most headed goals in football history, Cristiano Ronaldo scored another clutch header in the next game on Thursday against Egyptian football club Zamalek. The goal was an equaliser in the dying minutes of the game and helped Saudi giants Al-Nassr to qualify for the Arab Club Champions Cup quarterfinals. However, post-goal footage has gone viral on social media where the Saudi Pro League club's new signing Marcelo Brozovic appeared to slow down his Portuguese teammate.
After playing a 1-1 draw against Zamalek at the King Fahd Stadium on Thursday, Al-Nassr qualified for the Arab Club Champions Cup 2023 knockouts and are scheduled to face Morrocan side Raja Club Athletic, who are also the defending champions of the competition, in the quarterfinals.
After the 38-year-old forward salvaged Al-Nassr with his 87th-minute header against the Egyptian side, Cristiano snubbed the celebration and immediately picked the ball to go for the winner, however, his teammate Brozovic intervened and threw the ball away. The 30-year-old Croatian, who joined Al-Nassr from Inter Milan this summer, appeared to stop Ronaldo from quickly resuming the play.

Since the draw was enough for Al-Nassr to qualify for the knockouts, the Croatian stopped Ronaldo from taking the ball to the centre spot. However, at 38, Ronaldo continued showing his winning mentality and clutch performance.
Sadio Mane congrats Ronaldo on his goal
Al-Nassr's new signing Sadio Mane, who made his first appearance for the club on Thursday, congratulated "big man" Cristiano Ronaldo on scoring the equaliser. The Senegalese took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of himself alongside Cristiano from the Zamalek clash and wrote, " Une nouvelle page s’ouvre!!! Congrats for your goal Big Man @cristiano !!! On to the next round💪🏾thank @alnassr fans the support was amazing "
Meanwhile, Al-Nassr will face Raja Club at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Sunday, August 6 in the Arab Club Champions Cup 2023 quarter-final. Apart from Al-Nassr, Saudi giants Al-Ittihad, who signed Karim Benzema, and N'Golo Kante among others, and Al-Hilal, who signed Ruben Neves, and Kalidou Koulibaly among others, will square off against each other in another quarterfinal on Saturday.
