Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have played cricket for the country. Apart from the tactics, one thing that makes Dhoni different from others is his temperament and the ‘cool’ demeanour he possesses. Though Dhoni has hardly been witnessed losing his calm over other players, there was one particular incident when he got angry at India’s other star batter, Virat Kohli.
The Jharkhand-born cricketer became the first Indian captain to lead India to three different ICC title triumphs. Dhoni is one of the most skilled players, and his records, including the ones from behind the stumps, speak for themselves.
MS Dhoni, who otherwise shares a great bond with the players of his team, once got frustrated at Kohli. Former India fast bowler Ishant Sharma who was recently on an episode of The Ranveer Show revealed that Kohli, too, has been on the receiving end of Dhoni’s anger. During the conversation with the host, Ranveer Allahbadia, Ishant stated, "The Test match against Australia had reached a deadlock, and Cheeku (Virat Kohli) got out. We were playing Shikhar Dhawan's first match, and in the second innings, the Test match became challenging.”

Sharma added, “We managed to win, but it got stuck in the second innings. Shikhar couldn't bat due to a thumb fracture. Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) said to Cheeku after the match, 'When you know we have a shortage of batsmen, why did you attempt that shot?' He didn't get angry, but his words made Virat realise."
Notably, Dhoni called it quits on his international career on August 15, 2020, but the 41-year-old cricketer continues to represent his franchise in the Indian Premier League. Dhoni led his team, Chennai Super Kings to win their fifth IPL title as they took down their rivals Gujarat Titans in the final summit of the season. There were speculations of Dhoni announcing his retirement from IPL after this season. However, ‘Thala’ cleared all the rumours and announced that he would play for another season as a token of gratitude towards his fans.
