During the match, a heated moment occurred between Leandro Paredes and Rodrygo. The Brazilian forward turned to Paredes as he was quoted as saying “you are very bad.” However, Rodrygo got a befitting reply from Paredes as he mentioned his one FIFA World Cup and two Copa America wins with Argentina while Rodrygo hasn’t been able to win any so far. Replying to Rodrygo, Paredes said, “I have 1 World Cup and 2 Copa America, you have zero."

With a dominant win over Brazil, the defending champions Argentina have now officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. After the match, Argentine forward Julian Alvarez said that it was a historic win as Argentina won by a big margin. Notably, Alvarez was the first to strike to Argentina in the fourth minute.
“We humbly did our job and played a great game.
