The 12th edition of Big Bash League has began and tournament has already started to provide some insane moments from match 1. The first match between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder saw some brilliant bowling displays and stunning fielding efforts from both sides. While Sydney Thunder's bowlers ruled the roost as they restricted Stars to 122. However, Trent Boult provided a terrific start to Stars as he picked two back-to-back wickets in the very first over itself.
While it was a masterclass bowling display from Boult, the credit for the first wicket will also be given to the fielder Brody Couch who took a stunning juggling catch at short fine position.
I n the second delivery, Matthew Gilkes tried to flick the leg stump delivery towards fine leg but Couch, who was stationed at short fine leg tried to took a low catch but the ball popped out of his hand and went in air. However, the fielder rolled over and managed to hold on to the ball.

Sydney Thunder gets early jitters
Chasing a modest total of 122, Sydney Thunders made a terrible start as they lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay, which included the big wicket of Alex Hales.
Notably, Melbourne Stars are playing with 2 players who are COVID positive. While Marcus got dismissed on a duck, the other positive player, Joe Burns, got retired hurt after suffering a hamstring injury.
