The arrival of Neymar at Saudi club Al-Hilal has sparked a frenzy among the fans, who are eager to get their hands on the Brazilian star’s jersey. The demand for Neymar’s shirts has been so high that the club’s official store has been struggling to keep up with the orders.
The store has been producing thousands of shirts per day, but still faces a huge waiting time of up to two weeks for some sizes and colours, according to talkSPORT. The store has also extended its opening hours in order to cater to the fans who are willing to queue for hours to buy the shirts.
"Neymar Jr. is a global icon who has brought joy and pleasure to all fans wherever he plays,” Hilal chairman Fahad bin Nafel said once the signing was confirmed. He added, “The spotlight is always on him, and he always responds to it. We are delighted to have him join Al Hilal, the most successful club in all of Asia. He is an unstoppable attacking force and has achieved so much in his wonderful career. But the future is even brighter, and his signing is exactly what the team needs. He is a natural goal scorer."

Neymar, who has also received several luxury cars and a private jet as part of his contract, said, "I want to write a new history, and the Saudi Professional League has tremendous energy and high-quality players and is growing greatly at the present time, so I think it is the right place." He added, "Al-Hilal is a giant club with great fans, and it is the best in Asia, and this gives me the feeling that it is the right decision for me at the right time with the right club, and I love winning and scoring goals, and I plan to continue doing that in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal."
Neymar’s contract with Al Hilal will be valid until June 2025 with no option to extend, after which Neymar will be a free agent and able to decide if he wants to extend his Saudi deal, return to Barça, or try a new chapter in a different country or club. He has a fixed salary with a $300 million package for two years and up to $400 million with add-ons and huge commercial deals.
