After Bangladesh continued to remain on top, the hosts were jolted with the first wicket in the 47th over of the last inning of the match. After opting to bat first, KL Rahul & men scored 404 in the first inning. They then bowled out Bangladesh at a score of 150 and then came into bat again, putting 258 before declaring the innings. On the fourth day of the ongoing 1st Test, Umesh Yadav drew the first blood for India. Opener Najmul Hossain Shanto was caught in awe as Virat Kohli almost dropped the batter before wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant completed it.
Yes, the catch was almost like a combined effort by both Kohli and Pant. On the first ball of the 47th over, Shanto edged which Kohli dropped but Rishabh Pant caught it. Being Virat Kohli’s catch, the Indian batter messed it up, but Pant’s presence of mind called for it as he dived left to complete after leaving at his first attempt.

Talking of the match, Bangladesh needs 381 runs to win the first Test and take a 1-0 lead. However, with two quick wickets, their score reads 132/2 at the end of 51 overs.
