The IPL 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Kings saw a blistering start by CSK openers. In this batting carnage, one of Ruturaj Gaikwad's sixes went on to hit the Tata Tiago car displayed at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was facing off against spin-bowling all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham and danced down the track to hit an inside-out six towards the off-side. Gaikwad connected the shot incredibly well as the ball went on to hit the Tata car.

But this incredible knock soon ended as Gaikwad went for a big drive but only managed to find a leading edge which was comfortably taken by Mark Wood. The Pune-born batter ended up scoring 57 in 31 balls with three fours and four sixes.
Building on this start, Chennai Super Kings managed to post 217 runs, the highest total in the IPL 2023 so far. Devon Conway also added 47 while Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni contributed with some crucial cameos.
In the mid-innings interview, Devon Conway had some praiseful words for his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad and thanked him for taking some pressure off him. He also spoke about how Gaikwad seemed to be set from ball one as he hit an incredible six early in the innings.
He said, "It was a great start tonight, the way Rutu played- that first six was pretty special. Took the pressure off me. He is sneakily strong, holds his shape really well and uses his hands well."
