At the promotional event of the show ‘Battleground’ on Amazon-MX Player, former India opener Shikhar Dhawan registered his presence and also stopped a scuffle between former Big Boss contestants Asim Riaz and Rajat Dalal. After retiring from international cricket in August 2024, the former left-handed batter kept himself away from the headlines. In the Champions Trophy 2025, he was seen with his rumoured girlfriend Sophie Shine during Team India matches in Dubai as he served as a brand ambassador of the International Cricket Council (ICC) event.
During the event launch, the cast of the show Rubina Dilaik, Abhishek Malhan, Asim Riaz, and Rajat Dalal were present along with Dhawan. However, things between Riaz and Dalal flared up as both were involved in an altercation. Witnessing the brawl, Dhawan broke into the scene and stopped the fight. He separated both renowned TV figures to establish peace at the event.

Dhawan also appeared at the Times Now Summit 2025, where he was queried about his rumoured girlfriend Sophie Shine. After Sophie and Dhawan were spotted together during the Champions Trophy 2025, the headlines about them being in a relationship reigned. During the news event, Dhawan was asked whether he is dating someone. Responding to the question, he jokingly said, “Look, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket, and I know you’re throwing one at me now. But I won’t be trapped.''
Dhawan also stated that he recovered from his tumultuous relationship with his former spouse Aesha Mukherjee, whom he got married to in 2012. ''Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love—rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now, I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me. There were good moments, there were bad moments, and I am grateful for all of them,'' remarked the 39-year-old. In October 2023, he was granted divorce from Mukherjee on the grounds of mental cruelty.
