What a memorable night it turned out to be for Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. The 33-year-old surpassed Ray Allen for the NBA's all-time record for three-pointers on Tuesday when he completed two baskets from beyond the arc early in the fixture against the New York Knicks.
While he levelled Allen's record with his 2,973rd three-pointer with 10:50 remaining in the first quarter, after missing a chance to go break the record he made the most of the next opportunity minutes later and swished in number 2974. The spectators at the Madison Square Garden welcomed the record with a loud cheer and it made for spectacular visuals, some of them have been captured in a video shared by his team's official social media handle.
"A league of his own. 2,974 career threes for Stephen Curry, making NBA history as the all-time leader in threes made," the video was captioned.

While Curry reached the record milestone in what was his 789th career match, Allen had achieved the old record in 1300 games.
Post the historic feat, the Warriors committed a foul and were quick to call timeout for the celebrations to follow. The star athlete first hugged his father Dell Curry who was seated along the baseline. Bob McKillop, his coach at Davidson and Larry Riley, who drafted Curry into the Warriors, were also in attendance.
Post that the star of the night hugged Warriors teammate Draymond Green among others and jogged back across the court for a hug as he exchanged words from Allen whose record he shattered on Tuesday.
"I've had some fun nights in that building (Madison Square Garden)," said Curry who boasts of three NBA titles and two Most Valuable Player awards.
"The whole legacy of that building, how iconic it is -- a lot of cool things have happened in that building," he added.
Eventually, the Golden State registered a 105-96 win in a contest where their offensive struggles were evident, despite the victory. The team has been has been held below its season scoring average in 6 of its last 8 matches.
