Australian cricketer Steve Smith is regarded as one of the greatest batters of modern times. Known for hitting maximums and boundaries from bat on the field or his intriguing mannerism off the field, the Aussie hitter has his own unique style that sets him apart from others. The 34-year-old cricketer is all set to play his 100th Test on July 6, Thursday as his team is set to take on England in the third Test of the ongoing Ashes 2023 series, at the Headingley Stadium in Leeds. Ahead of his milestone game, Cricket Australia posted a video where Smith can be seen identifying his bats with blindfold on.

Known for his unique batting style, the former Australia captain recently took on a challenge where he identified all his bats while being blindfolded. In the video posted by cricket.com.au, Smith could be seen saying, “I’d like to pick up my bats without knowing which one is which and just get a feel for each bat. Every bat is slightly different, every bit of wood is a little bit different. So, whilst I try and get the shapes as similar as I can. I usually carry 10 bats with me and use one out in the middle consistently. I number them so I know which one is which and pretty quickly tell which one is numbered which.”

Smith then went on to identify one after the other bat correctly and said that while his Number 22 bat is his Big Bash League bat, the 24-numbered is the one he used in nets. Talking about his Number 2 bat, he said, “It’s been sort of my go-to bat.” Smith then got a bit confused between guessing the Number 20 and Number 21 bat, but later got the numbers right. The right-hand batter then went on to guess his Number 23 bat, and later Number 21 bat, which he used for an ODI game in India.
