The Pakistan cricket team is in India for the ODI World Cup 2023, set to get rolling from October 5 in Ahmedabad. While the Men in Green will begin their campaign against Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, the Babar Azam-led side were in the limelight after they received a grand reception on their arrival in Hyderabad.

While several cricketers took to social media to acknowledge the reception they received, Babar Azam, who was joined by other nine skippers also opened up on this warm welcome during the I CC Captains’ Day Meet ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. The 28-year-old on being asked about the hospitality, responded, “We were not expecting that hospitality in India. We felt home in Hyderabad.”

The Pakistan skipper had also taken to social media to react on the same. “Overwhelmed with love and support here in Hyderabad.”

It is to be noted Pakistan played both their warm-up matches ahead of the 50-over World Cup 2023. While they suffered to a five-wicket loss against New Zealand in their first warm-up match, Australia beat the Babar Azam-led side by 14 runs in their second warm-up fixture.

It is to be noted that Pakistan played both their matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and will play their first two fixtures of the ODI World Cup at the same venue before taking on India at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 14.
